Admissions Coordinator

Ontario Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking a full time Admissions Coordinator for our skilled nursing facility. The candidate should be comfortable giving tours, have basic healthcare knowledge, and be organized and able to multi-task.

 

DUTIES:

Develop the facility's census by;

  • Establishing & maintaining referral relationships with area hospitals, physicians and community organizations for the purpose of generating consistent admissions to the facility
  • Ensure a consistent & effective process for coordination of admissions with appropriate departments and staff
  • Understand the admissions process including policy, procedures, pre-admission assessment skills and admission paperwork requirements
  • Maintain contact with local community agencies to generate a positive image and encourage word-of-mouth referral activities
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations governing Medicare / Medicaid / Managed Care reimbursement processes
  • Communicate special needs of new admissions to staff to ensure a smooth transition
  • Handle inquiry calls from hospitals, families, etc. & provide appointments that include a presentation, tour and closing

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Excellent internal sales/marketing skills with the ability to implement the process
  • Computer literate, e.g. Word, Excel, etc.
